Bio

Emma Wilkes Smith, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Nexa Psychiatry & Wellness, specializing in interventional psychiatry, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and evidence-based treatment for complex mental health conditions. Based in Austin, Texas, she provides compassionate, individualized care for adults experiencing treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, PTSD, and substance use disorders.

Emma is the founder of Concierge Ketamine & Wellness, a boutique psychiatric practice focused on innovative treatment approaches that combine medication management with psychotherapy. Her clinical work integrates cutting-edge therapies, including intramuscular and sublingual ketamine and Spravato®, helping patients who have not found relief with traditional treatments. She collaborates closely with therapists and multidisciplinary care teams to provide comprehensive, whole-person mental health care.

Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Emma built extensive experience as a registered nurse working in diverse healthcare environments, including Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. This background strengthened her ability to provide thoughtful, compassionate care to patients with complex needs.

Emma earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin and later completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification there as well. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Boston University and maintains an active membership in several professional organizations, including the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.

Emma is passionate about helping patients find meaningful relief and improved quality of life through personalized treatment plans that address both the biological and emotional aspects of mental health.
